A new approach to plaster products processing

The President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture of Semnan announced a new approach to the processing of gypsum products in building panels, stating that Semnan province is the largest and most important producer of gypsum in the country.

Ali Asghar Jom’ehi stated in a specialized meeting on gypsum industries, held by the Semnan Chamber of Commerce and the University of Applied Sciences of the province, that the history of gypsum in Semnan dates back many years. Over the years, this industry has developed significantly, and most gypsum production units are now exporters.

This economic activist added that the processing of gypsum is now used in building panels in a modern way. We aim to replace other building materials with gypsum through innovative processing. It is very important to note that gypsum is currently utilized in other industries in addition to construction materials.

Abdolhamid Dorbaniyan, a member of the board of directors of the Semnan Chamber of Commerce, also mentioned in this meeting that the gypsum innovation center could assist gypsum industry owners in the province.

He stated that the establishment of this center was based on the demands and requests from the gypsum industries in Semnan province, emphasizing that since the policies of the gypsum industry are determined by the concentration of factories in Semnan, this center can provide appropriate data and information to the active participants in the field.

Semnan province, as the largest producer of gypsum and salt in the country, supplies 40% of the country’s gypsum and 60% of its salt.
